Service · Half-Day Shoot

Half a day. One clear deliverable.

A half-day shoot is four to five hours on location for one clear project: a founder story, a customer testimonial, a launch film or a homepage video. We have the brand-message conversation the week before, so on shoot day you already know what you want to say. It’s the easiest way to try the process.

Who this is for.

The half day is the most common way in. It’s for the owner with one specific thing in mind. A founder story. A single customer testimonial. A short film for a launch. An anchor video for the homepage. If your project fits in one location, with one or two people talking and one or two finished videos, this is the right size. It’s also the right size if you want to see how this works before you commit to anything monthly.

What’s included.

  • Four to five hours on location
  • Full audio, lighting and a two-camera setup
  • The brand-message conversation the week before
  • Raw footage for your archive
  • Editing as an option, which adds about a week

What it looks like in practice.

Before

The call

Sixty to ninety minutes on a video call the week before, no camera. You leave with your topics and the questions we’ll use.

Shoot day

Keep talking

I arrive thirty to forty-five minutes early and set up in the room that fits what we talked about. About half an hour on the main interview, then b-roll of you doing what you actually do, then a few bonus questions. We finish by looking at the takes together on the monitor.

Delivery

Raw today, edited in a week

Raw footage is yours at the end of the day. If you added editing, the finished cut comes back about a week later.

Common questions about half-day shoots.

What is “half a day” exactly?

Four to five hours on location, plus thirty to forty-five minutes of setup before. I arrive early, set up, run the shoot and break down. The brand-message conversation happens separately, the week before, on a video call.

Where do you travel for a half day?

Anywhere across San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. Most half-day shoots happen at the client’s own shop, office or job site.

How many cameras and crew?

Usually two cameras, one operator, and a full audio and lighting kit. Bigger shoots add a second operator and more light, and we talk about that on the call.

Can I add editing later?

Yes, before or after the shoot. If you add it after, expect about a week once we agree on the direction of the cut.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Reschedule with a week of notice and there’s no penalty. Inside a week, I’ll do my best to find you a new slot. Cancellations under 48 hours lose the deposit, because the day is already booked.
