Service ยท Brand-Message Interview

The video every other piece of content layers on top of.

We sit down, ask the questions most videographers skip, find your superpower, and film it. Most clients say the conversation alone changed how they talk about their business.

Two people in pre-production conversation, leather chairs, golden hour window light. The brand-message interview process at Mr Eddie Flores in San Diego.

Who this is for.

If you have ever tried to explain your business in a single video and watched the clip come back wrong, this is for you. Most founders carry their story around in fragments. A piece of it lives in a sales call. A piece of it lives in a thank-you email to a customer. A piece of it lives in a story they tell at the kitchen table on a Sunday. Nobody has ever pulled all those pieces into a single video that sounds like you. The brand-message interview exists for that. It is the foundation video that every other piece of content can layer on top of. Once it exists, you stop reinventing your own message every time you sit down to record something.

The interview itself is built around questions you already have answers to, you just have not said them out loud in a long time. What were you doing before this business existed. What is the moment you realized this work was actually yours. What is the part of the work nobody else in your industry talks about. What do your customers say about you when they think you are not listening. By the end of the working session you have heard yourself describe your business in language you have never used before. That language is the script. We do not write you lines. We surface the lines that were already in you.

What’s included.

  • Pre-shoot brand-message conversation (90-minute working session)
  • On-location shoot, multi-camera, full audio plus lighting
  • One 8 to 12 minute edited foundation video
  • 5 to 10 short-form pulls for social
  • Horizontal plus vertical exports

What it looks like in practice.

The pre-shoot working session runs ninety minutes. No camera. Just you and me at a kitchen table with notes and good coffee. We work through your origin, your customer, your superpower, and the things you wish your prospects understood before they hire you. By the end you have a printed list of the topics, hooks, and stories we will draw from on shoot day. That list is yours forever. Even if you never shoot anything else with us, the working session is the most useful piece of brand work most founders have ever done.

Shoot day runs three to four hours. We light, we mic, we frame, and we go. The conversation we already had is doing the heavy lifting. You are not memorizing. You are not reading a teleprompter. You are answering questions you have already thought through, in your own voice. Most founders say the time disappeared. After shoot day, the editor cuts the long-form foundation video first, then carves it into short pulls. Within roughly one to two weeks, you have the master plus a small library of clips. From that point forward, anytime you need to communicate who you are, you have a piece of footage that already says it.

Common questions about brand-message interviews.

What if I freeze on camera?

Most founders worry about this. The pre-shoot working session is the entire fix. By the time the camera comes out, you have already said most of these answers out loud once. The freeze response only fires when you do not know what to say. We make sure you do.

Do I have to memorize anything?

No. We work from a question list, not a script. You answer in your own voice. The conversation feels closer to a podcast than a video shoot.

How is this different from just hiring any videographer?

Most videographers skip the brand-message work entirely. They show up, point a camera, and ask you to be natural. The reason that footage usually fails is the conversation never happened. Here it is the default, every time, before the camera comes out.

What do I do with the foundation video once we have it?

It lives on your About page, your sales pages, your YouTube. The short-form pulls run as Reels, Shorts, TikTok. Everything else you make from there gets to layer on top of it. New content does not reinvent your message. It builds on the foundation.

Can I update it later if my business changes?

Yes. Most founders refresh their foundation video roughly once every twelve to eighteen months as the business evolves. The brand-message session can be re-run on its own without a full reshoot.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

If you’ve been putting this off, that’s the signal.
