Service ยท Half-Day Shoot
Half a day. One clear deliverable.
Four to five hours on location with a full crew. The entry point for most clients. The brand-message conversation already happened the week before, so by shoot day, you know what you are going to say.

Who this is for.
The half-day shoot is the most common entry point in the studio. It is for the founder who has one specific deliverable in mind. A founder story video. A single customer testimonial. A short brand film for a launch. An anchor video for the homepage. If your project fits inside one location, one or two speakers, and one or two finished cuts, the half-day is the right size. It is also the right size if you want to test the process before committing to monthly content. Most monthly clients started here.
What’s included.
- 4 to 5 hours on location
- Full audio plus lighting plus multi-camera setup
- Pre-shoot brand-message conversation
- Raw footage delivered for archive
- Editing optional (adds about a week to delivery)
What it looks like in practice.
The week before shoot day, we run the brand-message conversation. Sixty to ninety minutes, no camera. By the end of that call, you have a topic stack and a question list. On shoot day, I arrive thirty to forty-five minutes early, set up audio, lighting, and camera in the room that fits the conversation we already had. You do not prep. You do not memorize. You walk in, we keep talking, and the camera catches what is already there.
The shoot itself runs three or four blocks. Twenty to thirty minutes on the main interview. Thirty to forty-five minutes on b-roll, with you walking, working, doing what you actually do. Fifteen minutes of bonus questions and personality moments. Then a wrap-up where we review the take board on the monitor. By the end you have raw footage that already feels like a finished piece, even before editing. If you bought editing as an add-on, the master cut comes back about a week later.

HOW WE WORK
Four steps. Zero fluff.
1. Brand-Message Conversation
Pre-shoot working session, no camera. We surface your story and the topics we will draw from on shoot day.
2. Comfort Coaching
By the time we shoot, you’re answering questions you’ve already thought through.
3. The Shoot
4 to 5 hours on location with full crew. Full audio, lighting, multi-camera. We move fast but we don’t rush you.
4. Edited Deliverables
Optional add-on. Master cut comes back about a week after the shoot.
Don’t take my word for it.

Common questions about half-day shoots.
What is “half a day” exactly?
4 to 5 hours on location, plus 30 to 45 minutes of setup time before. We arrive early, set up, run the shoot, break down. The pre-shoot brand-message conversation runs separately the week before, on a video call.
Do you travel for half-day shoots?
Yes within San Diego County. Travel beyond that is quoted case by case. Most clients are within a 45-minute radius of downtown San Diego.
How many cameras and crew on a half-day?
Typically two cameras, one operator, full audio plus lighting kit. Larger shoots add a second operator and additional lights, quoted on the call.
Can I add editing later?
Yes. Editing can be added before or after the shoot. If added after, expect about a week of turnaround once we lock the cut direction.
What happens if I cancel?
Reschedule with a week of notice and there is no penalty. Inside a week, we try our best to find a new slot. Cancellations under 48 hours forfeit the deposit because the crew is already booked.
